The Houston Texans are taking another center.
The Texans picked former Notre Dame center Jarrett Patterson No. 201 overall in Round 6 of the 2023 NFL draft Saturday.
Patterson turned in third-team All-ACC honors in 2020. The Laguna Hills, California, native played 48 games for the Fighting Irish with 3,099 snaps.
The Texans picked Juice Scruggs in Round 2 to provide depth at center and the rest of the interior offensive line. Houston already has veterans Jimmy Morrissey, Michael Deiter, and Scott Quessenberry on the roster.
Patterson is the sixth player from Notre Dame the Texans have drafted. The last time Houston picked a Notre Dame player was twice in 2016 with receiver Will Fuller in Round 1 and center Nick Martin in Round 3.
