The Houston Texans are adding some veteran help along the defensive line with the 2022 NFL draft fully in the rearview mirror.
According to Aaron Wilson from the Pro Football Network, the Texans are signing former Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Rasheem Green to a one-year contract.
Green, who will be 25 on May 15, generated 6.5 sacks through 17 games last season, 16 of which he started. The former 2018 third-round pick from USC also picked up 48 combined tackles, six tackles for loss, and 15 quarterback hits last season.
The fewest sacks Green has produced in a season was 1.0 when he was a rookie and played 10 games, none of which he has started. The 6-4, 279-pound defensive tackle played in 53 career games with Seattle, missing only 12.
Green also visited with the Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers along with the Texans.
