Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens and seven-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles are now engaged to be married. Biles announced the engagement on her official Twitter account on Tuesday morning.
The two were engaged in Houston. On Instagram, Biles said it was “the easiest yes.” Owens also posted the engagement announcement on Instagram.
He said Biles “had no clue it was coming.”
The pair have been dating since 2020.
Owens, 26, was an undrafted free agent out of Missouri Western in 2018. He signed with the Texans in 2019 and has played 14 games (with two starts) for the team over the last three seasons. He set a new career-high with 17 tackles and made his first NFL interception during the 2021 season.
Owens can be seen with a cast on his hand in the photos. He is still recovering from a broken wrist suffered in January.
Biles, 24, has won four gold Olympic medals, seven total Olympic medals and 25 World Championships.
