The Houston Texans sustained a disappointing loss at the hands of the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon at NRG Stadium.
It wasn’t so much that the Texans faltered 17-10 in front of their home crowd to sustain their first AFC South loss of the year, but in the manner in which they lost. Houston mustered just 161 yards total offense, and the defense hardly fared better as the Titans generated 314 rushing yards.
If there is a silver lining in the loss, it is that a new week is around the corner. The Texans take on the 7-0 Philadelphia Eagles to kickoff Week 9 in the NFL.
Quarterback Davis Mills told reporters after the loss that the challenge of taking on the last undefeated team in the NFL is a motivating factor to put the Titans loss behind them and get upfield quickly.
“I think it provides a lot of hunger for the team to move into this next week,” said Mills, who went 17-of-29 for 152 yards, a touchdown, an interception, and took three sacks. “Obviously everyone in the league has the Eagles circled right now being the only undefeated team. We’re ready to obviously make the corrections from this game, but play a really good football game this coming Thursday.”
The Texans are debuting their Battle Red Helmets against the Eagles, who are an all-time 5-0 against the Texans.
