Anyone else onboard with the Houston Texans?
They have proven they can put up points and stop the opposing team’s offenses. C.J. Stroud is the real deal and he is achieving all this success without a majority of his starting offensive line.
Let’s not forget about the defense either. This defense attacks and is consistently in relentless pursuit of the football. SWARM has been a saying ever since coach Demeco Ryans came back to Houston, and there is no better way to describe the defense.
The Texans are fun to watch finally. Not only are they fun on the field, but the Texans have relevance in fantasy football again. With Stroud, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell, to name a few, fans have a team they can cheer for.
Let’s look at some players to cheer for in fantasy against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5.
QB C.J. Stroud — Start 'em
It seems to be beating a dead horse to demand Stroud start weekly, but throwing 151 pass attempts without an interception to start a career isn’t beginner’s luck. Stroud could also have all day in the pocket as the Falcons are second-lowest with just five sacks.
WR Nico Collins — Start 'em
Collins can create separation and catch the football; the former 2021 third-rounder’s only knock is his speed. Everything else looks like the part, especially with his 19.5 yards per reception and three touchdowns.
Texans defense — Start 'em
Last week the jury was still out on the Texans defense, but they should be a start. They are attacking and have a bend-don’t-break attitude on the field. Consider Houston is tied for the 12th-most takeaways with five, and have given up the 11th-fewest points with 79. The Texans should only dominate against Desmond Ridder.
TE Dalton Schultz — Sit 'em
Schultz may have caught three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown in Week 4, but it was hardly a breakout performance. If the former Cowboys tight end can model this consistency, then he may be worth a start down the line.
WR Tank Dell — Sit 'em
This fantasy analyst has been on record admiring Dell, but it’s only Stroud’s opinion that matters, and for now Collins is getting the looks. Dell could still be decent in a flex role, but his 9.7 yards per touch last week don’t cut it.
WR Robert Woods — Sit 'em
Woods is becoming the third wideout option on the team, which is a great thing when considering it’s because the youth is standing out. Before Dell busted out in Week 3 and Collins in Week 4, Woods had six catches in each of the Texans’ first two games. If his number is called, Woods will be there, but the youth movement in real in Houston.
