Texans do not receive any NFL compensatory draft picks

In an unsurprising turn of events, the Houston Texans did not earn any compensatory picks for the 2024 NFL draft.

This was somewhat expected after the team didn’t lose any marquee players in free agency this past offseason or minority coaches that would have triggered potential compensatory picks. The Texans do have eight draft picks coming up, though, and could add a lot of key players in April.

Here is the full breakdown of the teams that did receive compensatory picks and why:

Houston’s first draft pick will be at No. 23 thanks to the trade of Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns. The Texans traded their original 2024 first-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals in the move up to No. 3 to select defensive end Will Anderson Jr. in the 2023 draft.
