Tess Daly 'already obsessed' with one Strictly couple as same sex pairings make history

On Friday night fans reacted as Strictly Come Dancing bosses shook up the format of the long-running reality show by including two same sex couples on the line-up for the first time ever.

Following in the footsteps of boxer Nicola Adams and Bake Off star John Whaite, comedian Jayde Adams will dance with Karen Hauer and DJ Richie Anderson has been partnered with Giovanni Pernice.

The exciting news was revealed to viewers during the hotly-anticipated launch show on Friday night.

Following the episode, many of the BBC stars took to social media to share snaps of their new parings for the first time.

Host Tess Daly was one of those heaping praise on the 'genius' and 'unexpected' pairing of BBC Radio 2's Richie and last year's winner Giovanni.

The presenter, 53, took to Instagram to comment on Giovanni's first social media picture with Richie.
