Tesla’s Cybertruck Spotted In Mysterious Dark Camo, Fueling Speculation

People take pictures of the newly unveiled all-electric battery-powered Tesla's Cybertruck with shattered windows after a failed resistance test, at Tesla Design Center in Hawthorne, California on November 21, 2019. While the Cybertruck has been seen multiple times in a camouflage wrap, now the electric pickup truck was, recently, seen sporting a darker camo wrap, barely veiling its design details and adding an air of mystery. In recent Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) Cybertruck sightings, an interesting twist emerged. While the Cybertruck has been seen multiple times in a camouflage wrap, now the electric pickup truck was seen sporting a darker camo wrap, barely veiling its design details and adding an air of mystery.

This new look, shared by Electrek, followed the initial discovery of a Cybertruck in camouflage wrap last month and sparked rumors among industry observers. Automakers often employ camouflage on their vehicles as they approach the production stage.

In the case of Tesla, the company hasn’t typically relied on camouflage due to its usual approach of unveiling prototypes that closely resemble the production versions.

Tesla’s recent usage of camouflage isn’t just limited to the Cybertruck. The refreshed Model 3 was also seen with coverings. Add this to the multiple Cybertrucks in full camouflage wraps spotted over the past month, it is particularly intriguing considering the anticipation around potential design changes in Tesla’s new release candidates.

Tesla announced recently it had “built the first Cybertruck,” but its second-quarter earnings released this week clarified it was currently only producing release candidates ahead of actual production.
