The Briefing
- Tesla revealed its redesigned Roadster on October 15 at SpaceX's Rocket Test and Development Center in McGregor, Texas, where an uncrewed, remotely operated prototype accelerated to 60 mph in 0.81 seconds, drove inverted up an arch-shaped ramp, launched into the air, executed a midair flip, and landed safely on the pavement.
- Three trims are available—Performance (requires a $50,000 deposit), Thrust (requires $250,000), and an invite-only Rocket targeting 0–60 mph in under 0.59 seconds and a top speed above 230 mph. The Rocket is not approved for public road use.
- Production is targeted for Giga Texas in 2028; Tesla has not announced final pricing, confirmed delivery dates, or independent performance verification for any trim.
