A girl of five who loves her local Tesco so much she visits almost daily was thrilled to be made an honorary employee – with her very own uniform and name badge.
Ziva Kettlewell has befriended all the workers at the store she calls in at with mum Layla, 39, and dad Karl Fell, 57, and helps out by collecting baskets.
Staff at the supermarket – slogan “Every little helps” – say she “brightens their day” and after joking that she practically works here, they got her the custom-made kit as a birthday surprise.
Ziva said: “Wearing the uniform makes me feel good and I get excited when Mummy says we’re going to Tesco.”
Layla said: “I don’t think you’ll meet anyone who loves Tesco more. Every day, she asks when we’re going and walks around it like it’s her second home.
"She wants to be lots of things when she grows up but a Tesco worker is the most consistent. She has this kind of golden retriever energy, she’s just so happy to be there.”
Layla, also mum to Saffy, 13, said of Ziva getting her kit in December: “The first time she wore it she felt so special. The staff love her and it was so amazing when they gave her something back.”
Rachel Fores, store manager in Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham, South Yorks, added: “Ziva brightens everyone’s day.
“We were so proud to make her an honorary member of the team.”
