Supermarket giant Tesco is calling on customers to bin some beer sold at their stores amid concerns it could "burst". According to the store Vocation Brewery has recalled some of its produce amid safety fears.
It said the brewery has said there was an issue due to "fermentation" on one of its brands. This can cause the cans to "swell and potentially burst", reports North Wales Live.
In a safety notice Tesco said: "Vocation Brewery has recalled all batch codes of its Vocation Lower Altitude Table Beer 4 x 330ml." Any customer that has has purchased the cans is advised "pleased don't drink it" and is instead urged to take a photo of the item before "disposing of them safely."
Anyone who is affected should then show the photo to staff at a Tesco customer services desk to receive a full refund. No receipt is required.
It added that any customers wanting further information should contact Vocation Brewery at hello@vocationbrewery.com or by phone on 01422 410810. The store said all dates were affected by the recall.
The supermarket giant has also recalled other items in recent days. Their own brand Omega 3 capsules are off shelves as they "contain raised levels of glycidol, which are above the permitted legal limit".
Advice on its website said: "This shouldn’t affect your health, if you’ve been following the dosage advice. However, if you’ve used the product very recently and feel unwell, we recommend you consult your GP. If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t use it. Instead, return it to a Tesco store for a refund. No receipt is required."
The affected batches are Tesco Health Omega 3 Fish Oil 30, 90 and 240 capsules, with a best before date up to and including 04/2025.
Tesco's own brand Mixed Fruit and Nut has also been pulled from shelves due to an allergen that isn't specified within its ingredients list. The snack may contain milk which, it said, is not declared on the packaging.
All batch codes and all best before dates are impacted, and anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk is urged not to eat the product. You can instead return it to store for a full refund, and you don't need a receipt.
