Tesco shoppers have just days left before the grocery giant shuts down its Clubcard app permanently.
The retailer warned earlier this year that customers who use a Clubcard to save money on their shopping would need to switch to a new app and the deadline to do so is this Tuesday, April 18.
The app, which many shoppers use to scan their loyalty card in digital form without needing the physical card, is being replaced by a new one, called Grocery & Clubcard, which also replaces the Pay+ app, which was shut down in February. According to Tesco, the Grocery & Clubcard app, previously called Tesco Grocery, combines the features of the other two, allowing shoppers to pay, collect Clubcard points and spend vouchers, as well as check what's in stock at their local store, create shopping lists and order a delivery.

However, shoppers will still be able access to their old points, coupons and vouchers after the switch. Clubcard points will rollover to the new Grocery & Clubcard app and your points will also be available on your online account - even if you don't download the app.

Tesco has said the change is intended to make things easier for customers by having everything in one app. A spokesperson said: "Bringing the functionality of Tesco Pay+ into the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app is a demonstration of our focus on providing products which closely align to the needs of Tesco shoppers."
Tesco Grocery and Clubcard is free to download and available on both Google Play for Android and the App Store for Apple devices. If you download it through the current Clubcard app, your account will automatically be moved over.
The change will not affect Tesco Clubcard Pay+ debit card, although it has a similar name, or Clubcard Plus subscription plans. Clubcard Pay+ is a prepaid card that gives you one Clubcard point for every £8 spent outside Tesco (on top of the usual points earned at the supermarket), while Clubcard Plus gives you 10% off your shopping twice a month, plus other perks, for £7.99 a month.
