Tesco shopper in tears after being 'publicly humiliated' in front of huge queue

A mum says she was left in tears in the middle of Tesco after a mix-up meant she had to return £50-worth of shopping. The mum was left 'humiliated' by the incident.

She says she 'cried her eyes out' when she left the supermarket, after a mix-up with school meals vouchers left her unable to buy the shopping she needed. As such, she had to borrow money from her sister to keep her kids fed throughout the week.

The mum-of-two said she had to put back almost £50 worth of items from her trolley in front of a large queue. The 25-year-old, from Stoke-on-Trent, said: "There was a massive queue at the time, and I was standing there, I felt so gutted. I had to pull some items out of my trolley in front of strangers.
