As temperatures across Scotland continue to soar into their high 20s, there is no doubt we could all use a refreshing ice cream to cool down with.
Of course, we all know that Magnum's are the O.G of fancy ice creams - there's just something so indulgent about that velvety smooth chocolate and rich vanilla ice cream that sets the mouth watering. But before you reaching for a box of those fancy freezer favourites, it looks like there might potentially be another new kid on the block. Or, we should say, ice cream on the block.
Supermarket chain Tesco has launched two new 'double-dipped' ice cream lollies for the summer and they are said to be better than Magnum, reports The Manchester Evening News. Priced at just £1.50 for a box of three each, the two new flavours are Caramel Millionaire's and Raspberry Eton Mess.
The new flavours went viral after being shared to social media. They have since become so popular that they are starting to sell out in some stores already.
One shopper said she liked the caramel ones so much she went back for another pack, but they'd already sold out.
Sharing a photo of the pack to a bargains Facebook group, she said: "Went back to get another pack today already sold out, so if you get them in yours you are very lucky."
The product was also shared on the Snack News & Reviews Facebook page, attracting hundreds of comments from shoppers eager to get their hands on them.
"Oooo these sound delicious," said one. "They look mega," said another.
The Eton Mess variety was shared in another group, Money Saving Central, attracting even more attention.
One customer who's already sampled both ice creams told the Manchester Evening News: "These are amazing. It's bye bye Magnum, I won't be paying those prices again."
It comes as Tesco has launched what it's describing as 'a seasonal burst' of Clubcard prices, offering a range of products with up to 50% off, including ice creams, BBQ essentials, dinners, outdoor games and snacks.
Magnums have actually been reduced as part of the promotion, to £2.75 from £3.25 for a four pack, but it still works out as nearly 70p an ice cream and in many stores Magnums cost even more.
