As we enjoy the latest summer heatwave, albeit with the cost of living crisis hanging like a sword of Damocles over everyone’s head, Christmas will not be at the forefront of most peoples’ minds.
The festive period seems an age away at the moment, with celebrations centred around the arrival of yet more sun and summer holidays, rather than the appearance of a big man in a red suit and bushy beard. But Tesco has seized the moment to reveal what offerings will be available on its Yuletide food menu over the next few months.
One of the standout products is the edible village cake, that looks almost too good to eat. The ornately decorated gateau shows Santa and his reindeers flying across the night sky on the chocolate surround, while fluffy buttercream inside, and consumable houses and Christmas trees atop the quality treat.
