Tesco shoppers are being urged to check their cupboards for a popular chocolate bar that has been recalled as it poses a possible health risk if consumed.
Happi Free From has issued an urgent recall for one of their Oat M!lk Chocolate bars - which are supplied to Tesco - as they contain an undeclared ingredient, reports ChronicleLive.
A recent food alert from the The Food Standards Agency (FSA) says that the chocolate bars contain milk which has not been declared on the product packaging. This means that the product could post a health risk to anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to dairy products.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued a risk statement regarding the recall, writing: "This product contains milk making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents." They also explained that Tesco is taking the steps to ensure the safety of customers.
Point of sale notices have been issued by the company which explain why the product has been recalled and what to do if you have bought the affected products.
Tesco has since urged shoppers who have an allergy or intolerance to milk to return the chocolate bars to stores immediately for a full refund, no receipt needed.
It has also urged shoppers to contact Happi Free From directly at hello@happifreefrom.com directly for further information.
