A pharmacist who loves gaming has been struck off for stealing £950 worth of PlayStation gift cards to fund his FIFA habit. Taimoor Nasir, who worked at three Tesco pharmacies, secretly swiped money from PlayStation vouchers on sale in the stores so he could use it to splash out with virtual currency online.
The gamer admitted he was swindling the money to 'buy better players' on football video game FIFA. As part of the hugely popular game, players can spend real money on its 'Ultimate Team' mode to try to improve their virtual teams and compete against others.
Nasir, who worked as a locum pharmacist at three Tesco Extra pharmacies in September 2019, was eventually caught out by an internal investigation. Now, the pharmacist who qualified in 2018 has been stripped of his licence by the General Pharmaceutical Council [GPC].
