Tesco has made a major change to its Clubcard and grocery app that could see Christmas shoppers get a huge boost just ahead of the festive season.
The supermarket giant's revamp will see more than four million app users get personalised coupons every two weeks and a maximum of eight times a year, reports The Mirror.
The coupons will be tailored based on what customers have previously spent money on, and they will include bonus points and discounts for them to use in-store and online.
The coupons will be digital and stored on the Clubcard & Grocery app.
It is believed that, if the trial is successful, then it will be rolled out to more customers, according to The Mirror.
It comes as Tesco is set to close down its old Clubcard app sometime in 2023, as it makes way for the new Tesco Clubcard and Grocery app.
Customers will have to download the new app which they can use in-store and online to earn Clubcard points and use coupons and vouchers.
Existing customers do not have to create a new account as they can sign into the new app by verifying their account with their account details and Clubcard number.
There will also be a be a number of new features, including a stock checker, shopping list function and a tool to let customers pay for shopping, earn Clubcard points and use coupons with one scan.
Tesco chief customer officer Alessandra Bellini said: “Our customers love the way their Clubcard helps them save money on their shopping whilst earning Clubcard points to put towards those little treats like days out and restaurant meals, or to help lower the cost of their groceries and fuel."
