Tesco issues 'do not eat' warning on pasta item that may contain metal

Tesco has issued an urgent recall on a popular pasta item over fears that it may be unsafe for customers to eat.

A food alert from The Food Standards Agency (FSA) explained that the supermarket chain has recalled the Wicked Kitchen Spinach & Wild Garlic Ravioli as it may contain small pieces of metal.

Customers who have bought the product are urged not to eat it and to return it to store immediately where they will be issued a full refund, even if they do not have a receipt.

HullLive reports that the affected product that shoppers should look out for will have a use by date of January 12, 2023.

The supermarket giant has also issued recall notices explaining to customers why the product has been recalled and what they should do if they have purchased the affected item.

A Tesco product notice read: "We have been made aware that one date code of Wicked Kirtchen Spinach & Wild Garlic Ravioli 250g may contain small pieces of metal. Please do not consume this product and instead return any affected product to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.

"Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused."
