A man didn't quite get the deal he thought he had when he paid at pump after visiting a Tesco petrol station.
Mike J Ind thought he'd got very lucky when he put £10 worth of petrol into his car but only got charged £1.
With the cost of petrol continuing to rise in the current crisis, it was a welcome bargain.
So welcome in fact that after driving away having paid just £1 to fill up his car, Mike decided he'd make the most of the cheap opportunity, reports Lad Bible.
Deciding not to waste any time in case his luck ran out, Mike drove straight back to the petrol station and filled his car up more, once again only being charged £1 despite putting £10 in.
He couldn't believe he'd got so lucky, and decided to race home so he could fill up his two other cars.
Mike returned to the petrol station on two more occasions with two other cars to fill those vehicles up on the super cheap price. Once again, just £1 was charged to his card at the Pay at Pump station.
He had topped three cars up with petrol and only spent £4.
The driver was so delighted he shared the secret with his friends too.
Taking to Facebook to share his story, Mike wrote: "So thought it was my lucky day today as put a tenner of fuel in and noticed it only took £1 on my card so went back round and filled it right up.
"Again just a £1 taken. Went home and swapped cars over and filled that up and another £1 so filled the last car up and another £1.
"Thinking it was my lucky day and 3 cars full for £4 so put it on a couple of chats I am in letting people know."
Unfortunately, someone was quick to let Mike know he hadn't quite found the bargain he thought he had.
When using a Tesco pay at pump station, £1 is immediately taken from your account but the rest of the money owed will still be taken - just at a later date.
Unfortunately, instead of only spending £4 on topping up multiple cars, Mike will eventually see £40 taken from his account.
Luckily the driver found the whole thing rather funny.
"What a w***** I am," he wrote after someone had shed lights in the comments under his post.
"Thought it was too good to be true. Never get anything in life for free and I don’t know how I managed to get this far In life."
Some people found the Facebook post hilarious while other admitted they would have fallen for it like Mike.
"If I didn't know I for sure would've done this," one person admitted.
While another said: "How the hell did you get through life till now, just wow."
Mike, whose post got shared over 3,700 times, didn't mind that people were finding the whole ordeal hilarious.
He changed his profile picture to a photo of himself at a petrol pump, then wrote alongside it: "Me at Pump 6 today thinking I was getting a bargain tank of fuel for a £1. Was so happy."
