Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons and Sainsbury's shoppers warned over chocolare salmonella fears

Supermarket shoppers have been urged to check their cupboards for chocolate over salmonella fears.

Those who shop at ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury's have been warned about certain products which are stocked in everyday stores.

Investigations have discovered products, meant for the European market only, were imported to the UK.

They had already been recalled by Ferrero in Europe but were brought into the UK by importers not linked to Ferrero

Salmonella symptoms can include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Manchester Evening News reports the update does not replace the earlier recall.

Previous updates saw Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's recall several items.

Notices will be displayed in retail stores that are selling these products.

The point of sale signs explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.

If you have bought the products do not eat them. Instead, you should take them back to the store where you purchased the products and request a refund - here are the products being recalled:
