Tesco, Asda and Co-Op have issued urgent product recalls due to safety fears.
Warnings have been issued for beer, cakes, burgers and more. In some cases, the products are a health risk due to the presence of allergens.
When a product is recalled, the Food Standards Agency shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves. Anyone with any of the below items should visit their nearest supermarket for a full refund or exchange.

Cheesecakes
Earlier this week, Tesco issued a "please don't eat" warning over a number of dessert items that have now been pulled from store fridges. The supermarket has warned shoppers that a number of its cheesecakes are being recalled as a precaution. This is because the products may contain traces of walnuts which aren’t declared on the label.
A Tesco notice reads: "As a precaution, we’re recalling all batch codes of Tesco Free From Strawberry Cheesecake, Wicked Kitchen Millionaires Sundae, Wicked Kitchen Strawberry and Vanilla Cheesecake, and Wicked Kitchen Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake, because they may contain traces of walnuts which aren’t declared on the label."
The affected products are as follows:
- Tesco Free From Strawberry Cheesecake 2x100g
- Wicked Kitchen Millionaires Sundae 110g
- Wicked Kitchen Strawberry and Vanilla Cheesecake 100g
- Wicked Kitchen Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake 100g
And all best before dates are impacted by the warning. Anyone with a nut allergy is advised to not consume the product, but instead return it to a Tesco store for a full refund.
You don't need a receipt. For more information, contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555.
Similarly, Asda has also issued a recall on some of its cheesecakes. Emmi Desserts are recalling the Asda Vegan Lemon Cheesecake because the product may contain walnuts and or hazelnuts that are not declared on the label.
This impacts the above product for all date codes. No other products are known to be affected. Asda said: "If you have purchased this product DO NOT EAT THE PRODUCT. Please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact Asda Customer Relations – 0800 952 0101".
Burgers
Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's are urging some customers to get a refund if they've bought a certain batch of branded burgers.
It comes as Linda McCartney Foods has recalled all batch codes of its vegetarian 1/4LB burgers (227g) with a best before date of January 2024. The reason for the recall is the item contains an allergen, milk, which isn't listed on the packaging as an ingredient.
A point-of-sale notice has now been issued to all customers. These are used to notify customers about the recalled product, as well as advising what shoppers should do if they have already purchased the item.
People should check their freezers to see if they have a pack of the burgers at home. The product can be returned for a full refund, and no receipt is needed.
Beer
Tesco customers are being urged to dispose of a type of beer due to "fermentation" that can cause them to "swell and potentially burst".
A Tesco notice said: "Vocation Brewery has recalled all batch codes of its Vocation Lower Altitude Table Beer 4 x 330ml". All best before dates are affected.
Anyone who has purchased the cans is advised "pleased don't drink it" and is instead urged to take a photo before "disposing of them safely". You can then show the photo to a store employee at a customer services desk in Tesco to receive a full refund, and no receipt is required.
Yoghurt
Co-op is recalling Co-op Irresistible Lemon Curd Yogurt because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label. As a result of a packaging error, it has been incorrectly packed in a Toffee Yogurt pot with a Lemon Curd lid.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg. Affect batches of Co-op Irresistible Lemon Curd Yogurt are:
- Pack size - 150g
- Use by - 14 September
If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
