As we head into the first week of 2023, many of us might be thinking about popping to the shops to restock our fridge and freezer following the Christmas celebrations.
However, with New Year's Day falling on a Sunday this year, it means that today is observed as a bank holiday, meaning that some major supermarkets might not be open as normal.

Aldi stores are set to close a couple of hours earlier today, with the supermarket open from 8am-8pm.
All stores will go back to normal opening hours - 8am-10pm - from tomorrow, Tuesday January 3.

Tesco superstore and Express stores will be operating at festive opening hours today, meaning they are open from around 8am-8pm.
They will be open at the same hours tomorrow, Tuesday January 3, before reopning as normal from Wednesday January 4.

Asda stores will be open today and stores opening times do differ depending on location, but the majority will be open from 6am-12am.
Most stores will be open for 24 hours a day starting from tomorrow, Tuesday January 3.

M&S stores across Scotland will be open as normal today, with the majority of stores open from around 8am-8pm.

Morrisons stores across Scotland will be closing earlier today, as they will be open from 7am-8pm.
Stores will remain open until 11pm starting from tomorrow, Tuesday January 3.
