Many supermarkets in red warning counties will be opening later on Friday once Storm Eunice has passed.
The worst of the danger to life level storm is set to hit on Friday morning and shops are taking heed of advice and not opening until the afternoon.
Cork, Kerry, Clare and Waterford are all under red warnings and Tesco, Lidl and Aldi have confirmed opening hours have been altered.
Tesco said in a statement: "Due to the latest Storm Eunice red alert warning, all of our Cork & Kerry stores will open later on Feb 18th. Home delivery and collection services will also be curtailed, we are currently working on contacting all affected customers. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
"Our Waterford and Clare stores will also open late tomorrow as a result of the updated weather warning. We appreciate your patience. As always, the safety of our customers and colleagues is our priority."
A Lidl spokesperson said: "Due to Storm Eunice, all stores in Co. Cork and Co. Kerry will open slightly later at 10am on Friday 18th February to allow our teams to get to work safely to prepare the store for opening. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
"This extends to our Ennis, Shannon and Waterford stores."
Aldi added: "Due to the latest Storm Eunice Red Weather Warning, our Waterford Stores will open at 12 noon tomorrow (Fri 18th February) to ensure the safety of our staff and customers. We will of course keep you updated with any further changes. Thanks for your understanding.
