DALLAS — Dallas police released 30 minutes of footage Wednesday showing the chaos and terror that erupted inside a hospital last month when a gunman killed two medical workers before he was shot in the leg and apprehended following a police standoff.
The footage — from a hallway inside Methodist Dallas Medical Center where officers confronted the gunman and from police body cameras as officers apprehended him — documents the moments multiple gunshots rang out inside the hospital’s delivery and labor unit, and people both inside and outside the hospital room pleaded with the gunman to end the deadly stalemate.
“Don’t do this, please don’t do this, I’m begging you,” a woman is heard saying at one point.
