Shocking video has been revealed showing how planes have tackled the gale force winds at airports during Storm Malik.
A compilation video put together by an aviation enthusiast was shared to Youtube, which showcases various hair-raising moments when pilots had to perform skilled landings as strong winds battered the region.
Incoming flights from Alicante and Malaga are filmed performing ‘go arounds’, when aircrafts are forced to abort their landings on approach or after they have already touched down.
Previous video footage had already shown a Jet2 flight hit the runway with two wheels before swiftly making the last minute decision to take off again due to the conditions.
The flight, from Malaga, can be seen wobbling from side to side in the air before hitting the runway and being forced to divert to East Midlands airport.
Storm Malik brought winds of up to 70 mph over the weekend, just a day before a second storm, named Corrie, hit parts of the country from Sunday until midday on Monday, January 31.
The new video compilation posted on Monday, which shows various other flights battle the strong gusts of winds on Saturday, January 29, also features the landing of a Ryanair commercial flight from Alicante, according to Manchester Evening News.
Upon its decent, the aircraft can be seen dipping from left to right.
The skilled pilot manages to pull back up, without even making contact with the runway and aborts the landing in the final moments as strong winds prevail.
Other clips on the full video show various other flights take the brunt of the winds, as they hit the runway with force and deal with heavy turbulence.
Pilots are often forced to use the ‘go around’ procedure if they experience a late, sudden gust of wind, which conditions such as Saturday’s appeared to bring.
