Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Davis revealed that he was banned from flying United Airlines until a review of an incident that occurred earlier this month was completed. The incident in question took place on July 13 when Davis was removed from a flight after lightly tapping a flight attendant on the arm. This action led the flight attendant to react by saying 'don't hit me' before quickly leaving.
Davis, who played for the Denver Broncos, expressed feeling humiliated by the incident and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. Following the incident, an email was sent by United Airlines the next day, informing Davis of the ban. However, United Airlines later rescinded the ban the following day, which was communicated to Davis' team.
Davis' attorney mentioned that they were not aware of the ban being lifted until Davis shared the email on Tuesday due to a lack of response from United Airlines. The airline confirmed that the flight attendant involved in the incident is no longer employed by the company and issued an apology to Davis for the experience he had.
United Airlines stated that they are reviewing their procedures for handling such incidents to prevent similar occurrences in the future. The situation highlights the importance of clear communication and swift resolution in such matters to avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary distress for passengers.
