Terminally-ill man feels 'trapped' in new-build home due to 'unusable' garden

A terminally-ill man has been told he will have to fork out £6,000 to fix the "unusable" garden of his new-build home.

Keith Watson says he feels "trapped" in the council-owned property which features a garden on a steep downwards slope. Due to his mobility issues, the 65-year-old has been unable to use the outdoor space since moving to the house in April, the Mirror reports.

Mr Watson says the situation has left him "devastated", with housing provider Trent & Dove refusing to contribute to the costs of repairing the area. He says he was originally shown a different property down the road before moving in - as his was stilling being built - where the garden wasn't as bad.
