Teo Lopez stands by Josh Taylor death threat as he vows blood will be spilled in super-lightweight title scrap

Loudmouth Teofimo Lopez refused to back down from his shock threat to kill Josh Taylor as he vowed blood will be spilled when the pair square off in New York this weekend.

Tempers flared last week in the build-up to Saturday’s WBO light welterweight title scrap when the American issued his crass death threat. And the bonkers Brooklyn fighter was at it again as the pair faced off at yesterday’s press conference at the iconic Madison Square Garden venue.

Asked if he meant it when he said he “wanted to kill Josh Taylor’, former undisputed lightweight champ Lopez stood by his words before revealing a bizarre new catchphrase: "It's what it is. I speak the truth. I do have a quote of my own, I made it up yesterday - Aim for death for that's where life begins. I think it's a good one. Everybody is scared of death, I don't know why.
