A tent in a man's back garden was being advertised on Airbnb for €35 a night for those who want to "be close to nature".
Lodgers will be able to avail of the facilities - such as the bathroom, shower and kitchen - within the host's "large house", but will have to retire to the tent to get their 40 winks. The "fully waterproof" tent close to Phoenix Park has been rated highly by previous guests, who praised the "comfortable" accommodation.
Hotel prices in central Dublin are very high with one woman being quoted €800 for a two-night stay to attend a Garth Brooks concert. Perhaps these high costs are what is making the tent on Airbnb attractive.

The ad for the tent on Airbnb reads: "This large tent with a mini living room in front of the sleeping area. Double air mattress inside with many blankets, duvets and pillows for maximum comfort. It's a 4 person tent but it is set up for 2 people.
The tent has "blackout sides [which] means you sleep great". The ad continues: "You have full use of the house facilities also, shower and for cooking etc. It is in a peaceful area and by my large house. A great environment to relax and be close to nature."
The advertisement for the tent appeared to have been taken down at the time of publishing. Dublin Live tried to contact the Airbnb host.
