A tennis fan accused by Nick Kyrgios of having '700 drinks' at the Wimbledon final has bid to set the record straight.
Aussie Kyrgios was left fuming after he claims he was distracted by the lady - now revealed to be 32-year-old Polish lawyer Ania Palus - as he took on Novak Djokovic on Centre Court.
He blasted to the umpire during the third set: "Why is she still here? She's drunk out of her mind and speaking to me in the middle of a game."
When quizzed by the official which individual he was referring to, Kyrgios added: "The one who looks like she's had about 700 drinks."
But Ania has hit back, insisting she had only consumed a glass of rosé wine and a Pimms.
She was escorted from Centre Court due to Kyrgios' complaints, but was allowed to retake her seat shortly afterwards after being given a bottle of water by stewards.
Ania told The Sun: "He always says the crowd is against him and I wanted to show we were for him, I wanted to encourage him. I only had one Pimms and one rosé. It's the temperature for me, I had no hat. I'm really sorry."
Kyrgios displayed his now customary petulance throughout his four-set defeat to Djokovic, with the BBC even making an on-air apology as the 26-year-old turned the air blue.
He had regular slanging matches with his family in the crowd, at one point blasting: "Do you f****** care at all?”
Kyrgios was later fined £3,325 for his language, but scooped £1,050,000 for finishing as runner-up at SW19.
His antics were played out in front of Prince George, who was given the opportunity to hold the Wimbledon trophy by victorious Serb Djokovic after his win.
“It was great," the Royal told Djokovic of the match.
