NHL icon Wayne Gretzky once said "you miss 100 per cent of the shots you don't take," and Petros Tsitsipas has proved he isn't the sort to go down without at least trying.
And he also isn't the type to care if his flirtation attempts are laid bare in public after trying to woo Alisha Lehmann via Instagram's comments section. Tsitsipas—younger brother of two-time Grand Slam runner-up Stefanos—couldn't help but notice when the Aston Villa athlete traded the football pitch for a tennis court.
A recent upload showed a series of snaps with Lehman equipped with a tennis racquet to try "something different" in her training schedule. The Women's Super League star boasts almost 12million followers on Instagram and has blown up to become one of the most well-known faces in her industry.

And the younger Tsitsipas sibling is clearly among those admirers as he replied to the post with a proposition, commenting: "Let's play mixed?" The Greek up-and-comer—currently ranked 1,398th in the ATP—may be two years Lehmann's junior, but that didn't deter him in his pursuit.
Not only that, but the manoeuvre may well have done the trick after Lehmann replied to the post several days later. Tsitsipas will be looking to pull off some of his best moves after the Swiss star responded, "Let's go," along with a crying-with-laughter emoji.
The reply was accompanied with a racquet emoji, too, just in case any of Lehmann's followers (including Tsitsipas) got the wrong idea as to what their session would entail. That being said, Tsitsipas would presumably be more than content with that if it leads to a face-to-face meeting.
Lehmann previously dated fellow Aston Villa footballer Douglas Luiz for around a year. However, reports emerged in November 2022 suggesting the pair had parted ways, though it remains unclear as to whether the blonde beauty is in fact single.
For the time being at least, Lehmann will need to keep her focus on the field considering her Villa side are currently fifth in the WSL and nine points from qualifying for the Champions League. The 24-year-old has netted twice in 19 games across all competitions, while England star Rachel Daly leads the way with 16 goals from 18 outings.
Davis Cup competitor Tsitsipas has progress of his own to make if he's to live up to the example set by older brother Stefanos, who lost to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final in January. That being said, most athletes work better with a clear objective ahead of them, and Petros certainly had that in the form of a doubles date with one of the most admired women in sport.
