Tennessee’s Ben Joyce broke an NCAA record with a 105.5 MPH (!!!) pitch and everyone’s in awe

Just when you thought Ben Joyce couldn’t throw any harder than 104 MPH, something he did last month … well, he did.

The Tennessee Volunteers pitcher uncorcked a pitch recorded at 105.5 MPH!!! That is not a typo. It’s an understatement to say he’s throwing heat.

The pitch came against Auburn, as part of Joyce’s four innings of work with six strikeouts and just one hit allowed. And while we have to take the record with a slight grain of salt given that college pitch speeds aren’t recorded like they are in Major League Baseball, it’s current the fastest pitch ever thrown.
