Tennessee Mayor Distracted by Sausage Biscuit Crashes Car Into Utility Pole, Knocks Out Power to All of Downtown

Former Springfield Mayor Billy Paul Cornell crashed into a utility pole in the downtown area of Springfield, Tennessee, causing a power outage in that area of the city.

The crash, which occurred on 7th Avenue, broke the top half of the utility pole into two and exposed live wires which fell and draped over the awning of Austin & Bell Funeral Home, causing it to catch fire. The blaze was quickly extinguished by Springfield Firew crews.
