Tenders invited for Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi project: Minister

Minister for Irrigation Anil Kumar Yadav on Sunday said that the government had invited tenders for works worth ₹6,000 crore under the Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi project, adding that it would ensure speedy development of the north Andhra region.

Mr. Yadav, along with Minister for Municipal Administration Botcha Satyanarayana, laid the foundation stone for the package-2 works of Thotapalli project at Gundapureddi Palem in Pusapati Rega mandal.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, the Minister said that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was keen on completion of the projects which were started during his father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s regime.

“Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu could not take up a single project during his tenure. However, the YSR Congress Party government is taking up the works on a war-footing to ensure irrigation facility for the barren lands,” said Mr. Yadav.

Mr. Satyanarayana said that the Thotapalli package-2 works would ensure irrigation facility for nearly 57,000 acres including the tail-end areas.

Vizianagaram MP Bellana Chandrasekhar, Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad chairperson Majji Srinivasa Rao, Nellimarla MLA Baddukonda Appala Naidu were present on the occasion.
