Last year was a landmark one for YouTube and Influencer boxing, with a series of massive events pitting some of the world's biggest social media stars against each other.
But it looks like there could be an even bigger year coming up, as some huge names are set to come together and settle their feuds in the ring. Most notably, it seems that after five years of build-up and bickering that KSI may finally face his long-time rival Jake Paul in a super-fight towards the end of 2023.
However, we've taken a look at some other bouts that fans are itching to see happen over the next year, whether it be on Misfits Boxing, Creator Clash, Most Valuable Promotions or any other show. These may not all be likely to happen, but they for sure would excite viewers across the influencer boxing space.
Here are the top ten fights we need to see in 2023...
1. KSI vs Jake Paul
The battle YouTube boxing's top two. There is no doubt that the biggest fight that could be made in this space is the clash between Jake Paul and KSI. The Brit has already defeated Jake's older brother Logan and the pair have been angling for a bout ever since. It seems that both teams want it to happen towards the end of the year, after two fights each for KSI and Jake.
2. Andrew Tate vs Logan Paul
This one looks almost certain NOT to happen given Tate's recent arrest - but imagine the hype if it does. Tate also has a history of eye issues but there is a real bad blood between these two fighters, and the elder Paul brother is desperate to finally win a fight after three unsuccessful attempts.
3. Slim Albaher vs AnEsonGib
If you're deep into the influencer boxing scene, you'd be arguably more keen to see this fight than KSI vs Jake Paul. It's not two of the most glamorous names in the space, but as far as massive undercard names, there are no two men that excite fans more than Gib and Slim. This fight needs to happen.
4. Deen The Great vs Walid Sharks 2
Prior to their main event match-up at Misfits Boxing's event in Austin, Texas last month, there were some fans questioning why two lesser-known names in the space were given such a platform. Then they went out and delivered a classic in YouTube boxing, with both men landing massive knockdowns and sending the crowd wild. Perhaps not this year, but one day these two will meet again.
5. Sam Hyde vs Hasan Piker
There was no more memorable callout than when heavyweight comedian Hyde took to the microphone after his stoppage win over THMPSN and called out political streamer Piker. The streamer has shown extreme disinterest in even engaging with Hyde's viral callout, and unless something drastic changes, there's next to no chance that this fight happens.
6. Deji vs Alex Wassabi 2
After a triumphant year that included his first boxing win and an exhibition bout where he marked the face of legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather, it's hard to remember that 2022 started with a loss for Deji. The Brit was defeated by split decision in the main event of his battle with Alex Wassabi at Wembley Arena on the inaugural Showstar Boxing event. These two need to do it again.
7. Elle Brooke vs Astrid Wett
The first ever Kingpyn Boxing event was supposed to play host to a battle of the adult film stars Elle Brooke and Astrid Wett. Unfortunately for fans who were excited to see the two blonde beauties square off, the pre-fight press conference got a bit too rowdy and Wett pulled out due to safety concerns. With Misfits Boxing providing a more legitimate backing, this fight would be massive next year.
8. Brandon Buckingham vs Sneako
After winning his debut boxing match on Misfits 003 in Texas, Buckingham took to the microphone and called out a number of big name influencers including Danny Mullen and Sneako. The streamer is known for his friendship with Andrew and Tristan Tate, both champion fighters in their own right, but appears to have no interest in competing in his own right. Not likely for next year, but the build-up would be great fun.
9. Ed Matthews vs Joe Weller
It seems like Weller flip flops a lot on whether or not he wants to return to the ring, but if he were then it would be a great match-up to put him in with fellow muscle-bound Brit Matthews. This is another fight that would have an hysterical build-up if it were to happen, but it will probably cost a lot to get them both in the ring
10. Fangs vs Justaminx
Nobody had a less lucky year in influencer boxing than Jessie Lanister, better known to fans as Fangs. She had her October fight moved to November to accommodate her getting more training in, only for her opponent to pull out. She would likely have a brilliant fight with the Irish scrapper Justaminx, who hospitalised Tik Tok star Yodeling Haley in her Creator Clash debut.
