Music legends New Order are returning to Australia, promising a setlist of hits from across the band's four-decade career.

The Manchester synth-pop pioneers are known for iconic songs such as Blue Monday, Temptation, and Bizarre Love Triangle.

Their last tour in 2020 was affected by the global pandemic, with a show in Melbourne cancelled, but the band has promised to finish what they started in March.

"It's an honour to be coming back to perform in one of our favourite places," New Order said in a statement.

"We've always loved playing in Australia and are excited to be returning for a run of very special shows in 2025. Good things come to those who wait!"

New Order was created after the end of Joy Division following the death of frontman Ian Curtis.

Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, and Stephen Morris joined with Gillian Gilbert to form New Order, and they have gone on to make 10 albums across four decades.

They first visited Australia in 1982 following the release of their debut album titled Movement.

The band will play Perth's RAC Arena on March 5, Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl on March 8, Brisbane's Riverstage on March 11, and end with two shows on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House on March 14 and 15.

A fan presale starts 11am local time on Monday with tickets for the general public selling from 10am the following Thursday.
