Temple announced the hiring of former Penn State assistant coach Adam Fisher as the Owls’ next men’s basketball coach.
Fisher spent the past two seasons working under Micah Shrewsberry at Penn State. The Nittany Lions won their first NCAA men’s tournament game since 2001 this season before losing in the second round to Texas.
Prior to his two seasons at Penn State, Fisher spent six seasons at Miami working under Jim Larrañaga. During his tenure there, Miami reached the NCAA tournament four times.

Fisher will take over a Temple team that went 16–16 this past season. The Owls didn’t reach the NCAA tournament, losing to Cincinnati in the second round of the American Athletic Conference tournament.
The Owls’ biggest game of the season came when they upset Houston, which was No. 1 in the country at the time, 56–55, back in January.
Temple fired coach Aaron McKie after four seasons on March 13. McKie remains with the university as a special advisor.
