Wales will see sunshine and rising temperatures from next week with some parts of the country reaching highs of 17°C. The Met Office predicts that temperatures in the UK will be "above average" for several days from Monday, April 17 with the weather feeling "locally very warm in the sunshine at times."
Wales is in for a welcome change from the unseasonably cold and torrential weather the country saw on Wednesday. The strong gusts and heavy showers of Storm Noa caused significant disruption across Wales, closing the M4 Briton Ferry Bridge and M48 Severn Bridge, and brought snow and rain to north Wales.
But a senior meteorologist said the UK will experience a "soft heatwave" in the latter half of April and temperatures could reach the mid-twenties as we go into May. Meanwhile BBC weather presenter Derek Brockway said next week Wales will see spring-like weather with sunshine and afternoon temperatures reaching the mid to high teens.
