Tell us: how are you spending Ramadan?

Ramadan in the UK is set to begin on Thursday 23 March. For those observing the holy month, the long days can be difficult but it is often a time for spiritual and community enrichment.

Over the past three years, many in-person events have been disrupted or cancelled. In 2020, Ramadan began almost a month into the first lockdown when restrictions were at their most stringent. The following year there were still restrictions in place.

With things finally back to normal, we would like to hear about how Muslims observing Ramadan are going to spend their time during the holy month.

Are you holding or attending an in-person Iftar event or something else that was cancelled or disrupted in the past three years? Is there an event that is finally returning in full swing this year?

Are you going to be spending Ramadan alone? There are many reasons people may spend the holy month alone including family estrangement, moving to a new country or being a revert in a non-Muslim household.

Are you going to watch or listen to anything, either in the English-language or a different language, that is particularly resonant or just simply entertaining? Do you have a podcast that starts your day or a TV show that helps pass the hours until Iftar?
