Telangana: Set up SIT to tackle drug cases, says A Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy urged chief minister KCR to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to set up a special investigation team (SIT) to inquire into the increasing cases of drug abuse across the state.

Revanth, in his letter to CM KCR, stated: “The state government should ensure that all the evidence and digital records pertaining to drug cases and those allegedly to be involved in it should be submitted to the Enforcement Directorate.”

Referring to the death of a 23-year-old engineering student allegedly due to drug abuse for three years, Revanth urged CM to respond seriously to the issue before the casualties due to drug abuse go up in the state.

Though TRS government constituted a task force to inquire into drug cases, nothing much has happened, said Revanth . “There are allegations that cine personalities and politicians are involved in drug cases and government should not spare them,” Revanth said.
