HYDERABAD: Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the tender process for Kazipet rail coach factory has been initiated and that tendering works would be completed in two months.
He said a periodical overhauling (POH) facility would be set up at Kazipet. The TRS has been raising the issue of setting up a rail coach factory at Kazipet for the last few years as the Centre had promised to set up the factory in Kazipet.
“The Telangana government has not handed over land for the rail factory for a long time. Only recently, the state government handed over the land to the railways. We are thankful to the Telangana CM,” the Union minister said at a press conference on Friday.
He said the Telangana government was yet to release Rs 631 crore for MMTS works.
