HYDERABAD: A vacation bench of the Telangana high court has issued a notice to an apartment association asking it to explain its stand on a petition filed by some flat owners questioning the action of the association stopping essential services to them.
The bench directed the association secretary not to take any coercive steps against the aggrieved flat owners till the matter is adjudicated. The petitioners also challenged the constitutional validity of section 21 of the Telangana Apartments (Promotion of Construction and Ownership) Act, 1987, which confers powers on the flat owners’ association to cut off or withhold essential services like water, electricity, sanitary services, etc.
