HYDERABAD: The Congress has charged chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS government of not fulfilling its election promise of establishing a super speciality hospital in each district, 100-bed hospital in each assembly constituency and at least 30-bed hospital in each mandal.
Telangana Congress working presidents J Geetha Reddy and T Jayaprakash Jagga Reddy said CM KCR never visited any primary health centre in Telangana but went to a mohalla clinic in New Delhi.
"What is the use of trying to make a mark in national politics while neglecting the medical and health sector in his home-state. CM KCR always goes to a corporate hospital for his treatment but not a government hospital. Even the promise of setting up one medical college in each district is yet to be fulfilled," said Geetha Reddy.
The TRS government has not constructed a single super speciality hospital after coming to power eight years back. "The Congress is demanding that CM KCR implement all his election promises before the State Assembly goes to poll by year-end or in 2023," said Jagga Reddy.
Patients in the government hospitals are suffering due to shortage of specialist doctors and lack of other para medical staff. "CM KCR has neglected the Arogyasri scheme and the medical and health sector in the last eight years of TRS governance," he alleged.
The Congress leaders threatened to launch a statewide agitation if CM KCR did not implement his election promises on the medical and health front before the state goes to elections.
