Tekashi 6ix9ine’s home has been ransacked during an armed invasion where four gunmen reportedly held his mother against her will.
The embattled rapper’s 60-year-old mother was at her son’s Florida home when a group of men broke in on Sunday night looking for his cash and car keys, police said.
When police later arrived to the scene, they learned that four masked men came into the house with handguns. The mom was held at gunpoint outside while the suspects looked through the property for money.
Cops searched through the home with a K-9 unit, but the suspects were nowhere to be found. Police told The Independent that the burglars might have got away in a car before officers arrived.
The artist, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was not home when the burglary occurred. Instead, he was on a livestream with Jack Doherty. Doherty is a YouTube star who was arrested on drug charges over the weekend.
Video of the livestream shows Doherty reacting to Hernandez racing home following news of the break-in.
“We were livestreaming with [Hernandez] and in the middle of it, apparently he got robbed, so now there’s like a bunch of cops at his house,” Doherty said in a clip before telling viewers the collaboration might continue tomorrow. Hernandez has yet to comment publicly on the home invasion.
During Sunday’s livestream with Doherty, 22, Hernandez congratulated the YouTuber on his return home after going to jail.
Doherty was wearing a black t-shirt with his mugshot on it during the video. He had been arrested Saturday after he allegedly was found with drugs after disrupting traffic to film videos for social media in Miami Beach, Florida.
The home invasion comes after Hernandez, 29, pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge in July. He got in trouble for violating his supervised release after completing a federal prison sentence and racketeering and conspiracy charges.
During his court appearance, the performer told a Manhattan judge that his house in Miami was raided on March 12, leading cops to find cocaine and ecstasy in his bedroom cabinet. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped two of the charges brought by the raid.
The controversial Brooklyn rapper is known for his legal issues, including being sued by his ex-girlfriend last year for allegedly distributing revenge porn, Hernandez is considered a troll on social media platforms, where he often sparks feuds with celebrities. He shot to fame in 2017 with his song Gummo.
