This conversation with Tefi Pessoa originally aired in July 2024, when she was weeks away from debuting the Prime Video talk show Influenced and still very much in the middle of what would turn out to be a massive year. Since then, Pessoa has landed an advice column at The Cut, launched her own podcast, Tefi Talks, with Vox Media, and co-hosted Love Island USA’s companion show, Aftersun. She also made the TIME100 Creators list in 2025, and was named one of Rolling Stone’s 25 Most Influential Creators. Not bad for someone who was making $21,000 a year not that long ago!
