Teerasil signs a new deal, vows to make BG happy

Thailand striker Teerasil Dangda has extended his contract with BG Pathum United until 2025, the Thai League 1 club said on Tuesday.

"BG Pathum United are delighted to announce that Thailand international striker Teerasil Dangda has renewed his contract with the club until the 2024-25 season," the Rabbits said in a statement.

The 34-year-old forward moved to BG Stadium in the 2020-21 season and has since become a key player of the team.

"I'm happy to sign a new deal with the club. The previous season was a rollercoaster. There were a lot of changes, but in the end, we tried our best to finish the season," he said.

Pathum finished ninth in Thai League 1 in the 2022-23 season and were runners-up in the League Cup.

"It may be a disappointing year but I'd like to thank everyone for support. We will learn from our mistakes and lift ourselves to where we should belong. We will bounce back stronger and be contenders for trophies.

"I'd like to thank the fans for their continuous support. I hope that we can make you happy next season. We'll move forward together."

Arguably the best Thai striker of his generation, Teerasil joined BG from Muang Thong in the 2020-21 season and helped them win their first ever Thai League 1 title that term.

Last season, he scored 21 goals in 39 games in all competitions.
