A 14-year-old boy has suffered a leg injury after he was apparently hit by a car while riding an electric scooter at Maitland.
Police confirmed paramedics had treated the teenager for minor injuries and a few abrasions on Friday afternoon, just after school broke for the day, at Elgin Street, where the crash occurred near neighbouring parkland.
A police spokesperson said emergency services were called to Elgin Street near Walker Street, just off Les Darcy Drive, at around 3.33pm.
Paramedics said they were treating the boy at the scene for minor injuries, but there was no need for further treatment at hospital.
Police later confirmed that the driver was not at fault and would not be charged.
