An 18-year-old was rushed to hospital after he was stabbed during a suspected robbery attempt in broad daylight in a residential London street.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene in Charlwood Street, Pimlico, shortly before 3.25pm on Sunday, to reports of an assault.

Officers arrived to find an 18-year-old man who had been stabbed.

London Ambulance Service sent two ambulance crews, an emergency responder and an incident response officer to the scene.

The victim was treated in the street before being taken by ambulance to a south London hospital “as a priority”.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Images taken at the scene of the stabbing on Sunday appeared to show bloody cloths lying on the floor, while police had taped off the street.

Later in the day, an officer wearing what appeared to be a forensics suit was pictured at the scene.

A Met Police spokesperson said on Monday: “At this early stage, it is believed that the man was assaulted during a robbery.”

“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
