Teenager dies suddenly after taking unwell at property in Inverness

A teenager has died after taking unwell at a property in the Highlands, which police are treating as 'unexplained'.

Emergency services were called to MacLennan Crescent in Inverness at around 7.55am on Thursday July 21.

Bailey Matheson Munro had become unwell at the property and the 17-year-old was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the cause of death, which is currently being treated as unexplained, however police say there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

Cops say enquiries are continuing and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Constable Gary Hines said: "Our thoughts remain with Bailey's family at this very difficult time.

"They have asked that they be given privacy and I would ask that their wishes are respected."
